본 연구는 수원시 도시구조의 변화양상에 대한 분석을 통하여 특정 기간에 걸친 수원시 도시구조 변화의 특징을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 수원시 도시구조의 변화양상을 분석하기 위해 1996~2006년까지 각 시기별 OD자료를 바탕으로 인자분석법을 적용하여 기능지역을 설정하였다. 그로부터 도출한 수원시 공간구조의 양상과 각 시점 사이의 시계열적 변화를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 수원시 기능지역구조는 일극집중적 구조로부터 분산적 집중구조로 변화하였으며, 그 변화패턴과 그 원인 등을 도출할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 도시계획적 측면에서 도시내부의 권역별 개발사업을 특성화할 수 있는 근거를 제시할 수 있고 수원시 도시구조의 바람직한 발전방향을 모색할 수 있는 계기가 될 수 있다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.

This research reveals the changing pattern of Suwon city? urban structure through analyzing the city? urban structure of a certain period. In order to analyze the changing pattern of Suwon city? urban structure, factor analysis method was applied in analyzing the OD data from 1996 to 2006. An analysis on the space structure pattern of Suwon city and the change between each period in a time series was conducted. The analysis indicates the changing pattern of Suwon? urban structure and the reasons to this change. The result of this research indicates the factors in various development projects provide a desirable development direction in relation to the feature of Suwon city urban structure.
