The role of citizen participation in urban planning and design is very important and the various means of participation are increasing. Especially, it is important to integrate new ideas and consensus for making better places in district unit planning. This study purposed to suggest the better methods for citizen participation in district unit planning. The process were like these. First, the meaning and the role of citizen and participation were investigated. Second, the process and possibility of citizen participation in Urban planning Act and many cases were analysed. Third, as a conclusion, the promoting and adjustment methods for citizen participation in district unit planning were suggested.
